Purchase of Own Securities

At the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 4 September 2001, Shareholders granted the Company authority to purchase up to 43,080,000 of its ordinary shares. The Company announces that on 25 January 2002 it purchased 850,000 of the Company's ordinary shares at 7.5p per share and on 28 January 2002 it purchased 500,000 of the Company's shares at 7p per share.
On cancellation of these shares the Company's issued share capital will be 284,212,760 ordinary shares.
