Michael W Stevens, Chairman

Appointed to the Board in May 2002 and invited to become Chairman in August 2002. Extensive experience in the property sector in Europe and the US. Built over 2million sq ft of turnkey industrial, residential, government and sports facilities for UAP insurance company; built & developed buildings for the St James Group in the US, including the St James’s Tower & St James’s Clubs (415 54th Street NY); built new towns Marne la Valee and Cergy Pointoise. A founder shareholder of Iaxis Network with Bain Capital and GE and of telehouse group Digiplex with Carlyle Group and Providence. The former owner, Chairman and CEO of Paravision & Telecip, an owner of film libraries and feature film producer which he built into a billion dollar concern with L’Oreal/Nestle. Now has a variety of private investments, particularly orientated towards property and infrastructure. From 2007 to October 2008, Michael Stevens was appointed Director and Executive Chairman of Andes Energia plc, an AIM listed company.

Chris Musselle, Chief Executive

Appointed Chief Executive in September 2005, he joined Dean Corporation (the pre-cursor to Artisan) as group financial controller in 1997. He became Finance Director of Artisan (UK) plc when it was created from the demerger in December 1988. After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1981, he moved to Cambridge, latterly with Touche Ross, remaining there until 1994. He then spent three years working as a financial controller and subsequently finance director within the construction industry. He leads the executive team and is involved with all significant issues within Artisan including strategy, major land acquisition and litigation as well as financial management.

John Jones, Executive Director

John Jones manages the residential activities within the Group bringing this very clear understanding of residential development. John has been with Rippon Homes since the start of his career and was appointed a director in 1991 and Managing Director in 1997.

In 2000 he managed on behalf of Ennstone the sale of Rippon Homes to Artisan (UK) plc, remaining Managing Director of Rippon Homes.

As part of the management restructuring in September 2005, he was appointed Executive Director of Artisan (UK) plc.

Michael Eyres, Executive Director

Michael Eyres manages the commercial activities within the Group.  Michael joined Artisan in 1999, becoming Managing Director of its business park development subsidiary Artisan (UK) Developments Limited in 2001.  Previously he was Sales Development Manager at Astec Projects Ltd.  Between 1988 and 1998 he held the position of Commercial Manager at Potton Group, involved in both its residential and healthcare property subsidiaries.  He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, having trained originally as a Quantity Surveyor.  In July 2007, Michael was appointed Executive Director of Artisan (UK) plc.

Norman Saunders, Non-Executive Director

Norman Saunders is an independant Non-Executive Director.  He is Chairman of the Audit Committee and serves on the Remuneration Committee and has been with Artisan since its inception. He is a chartered accountant and began his career in property development in 1965 when he joined Town and City Properties Limited, a large quoted property development group, where he became company secretary and finance director in 1970. In 1976 he left Town and City to form his own practice where he worked until retirement in 1992. He is currently involved in consultancy and the voluntary sector.

John Hemingway, Non-Executive Director

John Hemingway is an independant Non-Executive Director. He is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and serves on the Audit Committee. He spent thirty years with investment bank Philips & Drew/UBS Asset Management, twenty of those as a partner/director. He was a member of the Investment Committee, UK Equities and Head of Overseas Equities. He was a member of the London Stock Exchange. Since leaving Philips & Drew/UBS in 2000, he has worked as an advisor to pension funds and as a shareholder/Director of various private companies.
