About Us

Geoff was appointed a non executive director and Chairman of Artisan (UK) plc in July 2013 to succeed our previous Chairman. Geoff chairs the regular Artisan (UK) plc board meetings. Geoff began his career in stockbroking and financial analysis on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange before moving to the United Kingdom in 1984 where he was involved in trade finance. He has a BA in Econ. Sc. and an MBA, both from the University of the Witwatersrand - South Africa and is a member of the International Tax Planning Association and a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He sits as a non executive director on a number of companies as well as being a trustee of a charitable organisation. Geoff has for several years assisted in the representation of Aspen Finance Ltd, the immediate majority shareholder in Artisan (UK) plc.

Geoff qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 whilst working for KPMG where he gained experience in auditing and corporate finance across a wide range of business sectors. On leaving KPMG he undertook various roles in SMEs at financial controller and director level.

Geoff joined the Artisan Group in 2003 as financial controller and was promoted to subsidiary director in 2005 and then to Group Finance Director in March 2017. He heads up the finance function for the Group and his responsibilities include all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, tax compliance and insurance.
